Description

The Minnow P90s are handwound/scatterwound in the Lewis shop. They are underwound to achieve the early to mid-50s tone, with a resistance rating in a range that no other aftermarket P90s offer, known as the sweet spot of vintage tone.

They are made with Alnico V rough magnet bars and plain enamel magnet wires.

The Minnow P90 pickups have a very distinctive and versatile sound, which can be described with the following characteristics:

Punchy Midrange: They have a strong and pronounced midrange that cuts through the mix, making them great for both rhythm and lead playing. This gives them a bold and assertive tone that stands out.

Warmth: They offer a warm, rich tone that retains clarity and definition. This warmth makes them suitable for a variety of musical styles, from jazz and blues to rock and punk.

Articulation: The Minnow P90s are known for their excellent note articulation and clarity, even when played with overdrive or distortion. Each note rings out clearly, making them ideal for complex chord voicings and fast single-note runs.

Dynamic Range: These pickups respond well to changes in picking dynamics, offering a wide range of tones depending on how hard or soft you play. This makes them highly expressive and versatile.

Grit and Growl: When pushed with higher gain, the Minnow P90s can deliver a gritty, growling tone that has a raw, aggressive edge.
